CMS is making an attempt to take down one of the last refuges from Medicaid for the hard earned resources of the middle class – The Pooled Trusts.

Following the passage of DEFRA in February 2006, Medical Assistance planning, aka Medicaid planning, is in a state of flux. The Federal law has been passed but States need to follow suit to establish the framework to administer the new law at the State level.

The Medical Assistance rules are changing in Minnesota as a result of the Budget reduction legislation that President Bush signed in February of 2006. There are lots of changes that will affect the way that people plan for and apply for MA in Minnesota.
